Extract Wizard Agents

Ontrack PowerControls Extract Wizard is a powerful tool that allows you to restore data from online backups to an alternative location. By eliminating the need for a duplicate Exchange Server, Ontrack PowerControls Extract Wizard greatly reduces the time required for restoration and recovery.

Ontrack PowerControls Extract Wizard is compatible with multiple backup formats and the Extract Wizard for Microsoft® NT Backup is included at no extra cost. All other Extract Wizard agents are £325 per Server. Please refer to the information below to view which agents meet your backup software needs.

1) Microsoft NT Backup BKF files and Symantec Backup Exec BKF files are proprietary to each respective program and are not interchangeable. For additional information, see the Ontrack PowerControls User Guide

2) For EMC NetWorker 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4 backups created using Advanced File Backups, Ontrack recommends the Advanced Method for extraction.

3) For CA ARCserve 11.5 multiplexed backup tapes, Ontrack recommends the Advanced Method for extraction.

4) For CA ARCserve 11.5 SP3 backups of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 created using Advanced Mode, Ontrack recommends the Direct method for extraction.

5) For VERITAS NetBackup 6.x backups created using Bare Metal Restore or Off-Host Backup, Ontrack recommends the Advanced Method for extraction.

6) For IBM Tivoli Storage Manager 5.3 and 5.4 backups created using Export mini format, Ontrack recommends the Advanced Method for extraction.

Other Add-On Agents

In addition to Extract Wizard, other add-on features can be purchased for enhanced search and analysis capabilities.

• Agent for Content Analysis: Reduces the time taken to perform complex email searches. Allows administrators to create customised data stores to perform complex search and analysis on multiple data sources rather than one at a time.
• Agent forPSTas Source : Allows users to select any PST file and open as a source data store, performing all database operations including copying, exporting, and searching. Parent folders are implemented for PST sources.
• Agent for Advanced Searching: Enables you to search attachment text for keywords or phrases. This agent has the ability to search within Attachment Text, Message Subject, Message Body, and Attachment File Name(s), allowing you to search any of these criteria in any combination.
